Exciting position as a Back-End Developer at Observit

Observit specializes in edge-based video applications for vehicles, providing secure, scalable, and innovative solutions in the security and monitoring industry.

Our technology connects the devices together and into the cloud for ease of access of both data retrieval and managing the system. The development department consists of an embedded software team, a server back-end team, and an AI team, all working together to find the optimal solutions for our customers. We have been around for over 20 years and are now in another interesting journey to scale up the technology even further.

The Role
We are looking for an experienced Back-End Developer to join our team. You will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining the back-end infrastructure that powers our security and surveillance solutions. If you are passionate about scalable architecture, high-performance systems, and efficient database management, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain server-side applications for our security and monitoring products.
• Build and optimize current RESTful APIs and data-processing pipelines.
• Write maintainable code following the set and well-known standards.
• Collaborate within and across our teams to integrate and improve our systems.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and technical issues.

We are looking for:

Requirements
• At least one year of experience in server-side programming with PHP or Node.js technologies.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
• Collaborative mindset, being open about what you know — and don’t — and eager to learn together with the team.
• System design thinking, being able to understand how parts of the system work together to develop the right solutions.
• Understand and follow best practices as well as known standards when writing code.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to master various technologies across the development cycle.
• Understanding of the latest and emerging technologies in web development.
